The process of taking Martinez national began in 2003 when millions of country-music fans were first exposed to his music. John Arthur Martinez finished second to winner Buddy Jewell on the USA Network's national talent competition Nashville Star. "A Home Made of Stone," his first Dualtone single, is one of the original compositions he introduced to overwhelming response on the television series.
